Getting started

How to start travelling alone?

So you’re at a point in your life where you want to change something. That’s amazing and I’m happy that this feeling is taking root within you now. So, first you feel the urge to travel and its growing, slowly you start asking yourself HOW?!

You’re not alone. That’s also the first question I asked myself 4 years ago. It is a very scary decision you’re making right now. Scary but absolutely exiting as well. So many things are bound to happen to you, for you. But more on that in other blog posts!

Inevitably, you would feel these questions within:

  • Where to go?
  • How long do I want to go?
  • How much money do I need?
  • How do I break it to my family?
  • How much should I plan in advance?
  • Can I even do it myself?

I can give you only one advice and it is the ultimate solution to all of the questions above.
I know that sounds easier said than done but you’ll very quickly notice that it is as easily done as said.

The hardest part of starting to travel are none of the things above. Not even money. It is the leaving itself. It is you and your mind making this decision to buy a one way ticket. Leaving everything behind. Everything else has a way to work out on its own. I’m not saying you’ll never face any troubles or difficulties. I’m simply saying you can work them out along the way. You will have to anyway, even if you plan everything upfront as it never turns out that way. So don’t even bother.

So dip into those savings, spin the globe, choose a country and GO!
